от 12/06/2007

NEC Computers has today (6 June 2006) announced the latest addition to its PC portfolio with the
launch of the VERSA S970, part of the new look notebook range featuring Intel® Centrino Pro
processor technology. An impressive product for the professional market, the S970 combines the
best of design, quality and performance with guaranteed uniformity across the VERSA range.

The new range has been designed to provide top of the range security options, including a fingerprint
reader, STOPTRACK enhanced design, TPM chip and a two-level BIOS password. It also incorporates
the NEC Instant Recovery function which allows users to restore the system instantly in the event of
an OS crash. In the battle against laptop theft, NEC also offers customers an option to engrave their
logo directly onto the product casing.

In addition the notebook offers users impressive battery life through the innovative NEC ECO
button. This features on the entire VERSA range and guarantees up to 9 hours* battery operation,
when batteries up to 12 cells are added. It also allows the level of energy consumption to be
reduced and provides an economy mode which cuts the processor frequency in half, while reducing
the screen brightness.

Ideal for people on the move, the NEC VERSA S970 provides complete and extended connectivity.
The WiFi 802 card provides a higher operating radius and better connection quality, thanks to the
use of several antennae (MIMO technology). In addition, similar to all laptops in the NEC range, it
has a Bluetooth function provided as an option, a 4-in-1 memory card reader, and 3 USB ports.

The lightweight VERSA, weighing only 2kg, offers users a 14” WXGA format ensuring NEC Computers
is at the forefront of the mobile computing market by providing users with the comforts of a
desktop computer, redefining how people work away from their desks.

Based on the Intel® Centrino® Pro processor technology, the VERSA S970 benefits from IAMT
technology (Intel Management Technology), enabling businesses to carry out increasing numbers of
remote maintenance and inventory operations. This can take place even while the PC is switched
off, or used remotely through a WiFi network. This technology provides a major advance in stock
management of laptop PCs. A large company with a central IT department and with numerous
remote sites, or an IT reseller carrying out maintenance for its clients, will find it a reliable and
efficient method in reducing the overall cost of ownership.
The NEC VERSA S970 incorporates a T7XXX series Intel® CoreTM2 Duo coupled with 4 Mb of cache
memory. It can also carry 1 GB of Intel® Turbo Memory to enable fast start-up of Windows and the
most frequently used applications. The Intel® GM965 chipset guarantees efficient multi-task
operation and considerably increases the productivity of this laptop computer.

With DDRII memory and integrated hard drives up to 120 GB SATA-150, the NEC VERSA S970 will be
available with Intel® Centrino® Pro processor technology from September 2007, for an extensive
range of remote management capacities.

NEC also provides the option of the new NEC Port Replicator 3 with DVI-D to enable users to
connect their high-end digital displays without compromising image quality.
