Hack Tech Challenge awarded the prizes to innovative software for 2016

On May 13, 2016 officially finished Hack Tech Challenge - the first virtual hackathon for .NET programmers with organizer ‘Kontrax’ JSC. The special prize for funding and mentoring support to start a real business in 2016 is awarded to the best presented team ‘Me’ - Yulian Sapundzhiev and Michail Shishmanov for their complete system to control and monitor of remote devices with low power consumption in an urban environment.


First is honored the project for building a system for remote access to specialized health care where practitioners perform diagnostic activities without being on the same physical place with their patients, the development belongs to Ilia Pendzhurov by ‘Teleconsult’ team.


Second prize is for the project that enables electronic management of the whole learning process in secondary and higher education, and it can be used for all kinds of institutions. The development belongs to Angel Dimitriev and Deyan Svetoslavov from Sofia, both from the team of ‘BeerDrinkers’.


Third place is for the team ‘Shared parking spot’ or Nikolay Rusev from Shumen town, which offers a solution for parking in urban environments where the garage owners can lease the space in front for the time when it is not in use.


It was awarded and one additional prize of Dnevnik.bg for the project with cause which belongs to the team ‘Drums’ - Stanislav Andreev, Ivan Stoyanov and Atanas Atanasov. They create innovative software for education of the hearing impaired people to be able to play drums.


The competition took place in a virtual environment for the period February 1 – May 13, 2016 on three socially significant topics: e-education, e-health and intelligent city management. The ideas were evaluated by an expert jury by the organizer to cover the following criteria: the idea is innovative and applicable for Bulgaria, it is business oriented and focused on customers, it resolves a (real/realized) problem for the users, degree of completion of the developed prototype, its potential for further development, expansion and upgrading, as well as its impact (social effect).


Hack Tech Challenge 2016 is organized by ‘Kontrax’ JSC. The event is being held for the first time, but the idea is to establish it as an initiative and a stage for new and future talents and innovators among adolescents and young people who will be motivated to develop their knowledge and skills in information and communication technologies and to find better opportunities on the labor market in Bulgaria.
