Decision for awarding:

I award the Order of the Crown for his merit to Hungary to the Honorary General Consul of Hungary in Bulgaria, Mr. Jordan Jordanov, as recognition of his activities for developing the economic relationship between Hungary and Bulgaria, for the support of the Hungarian culture, as well as the consul help provided by him for Hungarian citizens being in trouble in Bulgaria.

After completing his high school education Mr. Jordan Jordanov continued his education in the Technical University of Budapest, and graduated in 1981. Then he started work at the Institute on technological electronics, as research associate, and simultaneously gave lectures at the Technical University - Plovdiv. He has worked as a Marketing Director at Technotronika Sofia, Sale Director, Manager and Commercial Director at Kontrax – Sofia. Since 1995 he is the General Manager and owner of one of the biggest IT companies – Kontrax AD; as he buys the company and further develops his current business. Since 1992 he maintains good business relations with Hungarian companies.

 

As a recognition to his qualities and unique attitude, on 6 February 2008, during his visit in Bulgaria, the President of Hungary, László Sólyom, gives him the accreditation as an Honorary Consul of Hungary in Bulgaria. In 2018 he is raised as Honorary General Consul.

 

His relations with the Hungarian culture are dated since 1975, when is starts his higher education in the Technical University of Budapest. Mr. Jordanov is a zealous admirer of the Hungarian culture, continuously supporting the activity of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Sofia. Many Hungarian artists and performers had the chance to present themselves in Bulgaria with his sponsorship. He supported also the traditional competition on recitation organized in town of Shumen.

 

For many years now, in his capacity of a chairman of the Hungary-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Jordanov contributes to the economic cooperation between the two countries and promotes the Hungarian economic policy.
