Low cost, network-ready, powerful multifunctionality - the new Kyocera FS-1118MFP

от 03/06/2005

Kyocera’s new FS-1118MFP has been developed following the success of its predecessor the FS-1018MFP. The exciting new FS-1118MFP A4 multifunctional device offers users standard network connectivity, full functionality and more features, such as Scan to PC and an optional fax function.

Based on Kyocera’s unique, long-life, ECOSYS technology, the FS-1118MFP delivers a very low cost per page and a very low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), whether printing or copying.

Network connectivity as standard and numerous network solutions make the FS-1118MFP the ideal device for teams, small workgroups and departments as a powerful and highly functional communication device.

Functionality and speed
The FS-1118MFP delivers 1200 dpi quality A4 documents, at print speeds of 18ppm, with a time to first print of just 8 seconds. This new multifunctional system delivers high-quality printing, copying and colour scanning, and with the inclusion of the optional fax system, the FS-1118MFP will be the hub of any small office or workgroup.

Compact and powerful
Although the FS-1118MFP has a compact design and a small footprint, this does not affect its substantial paper handling capability. The FS-1118MFP offers a standard paper supply of 300 sheets that can be upgraded to a maximum of 550 A4 sheets with the addition of the PF-17 Paper Feeder, which means fewer refills.

An optional DP-100 Document Feeder can also be fitted so the FS-1118MFP can easily take care of large copy and scan jobs. The device’s central controller delivers an impressive 96MB RAM as standard (expandable to 320 MB) to ensure that advanced digital copying features such as scan-once-print-many and electronic sorting, are handled with ease.

Colour scanning benefits
The FS-1118MFP system includes colour scanning as standard, which means that users can take advantage of colour in the office. People pay more attention to colour and retain information more effectively; speeding the information flow within a company, improving workflow and efficiency.

Users can make hand-written comments in colour on typed b/w meeting agendas during a meeting, then rather than having to take extra time to re-type notes in bland b/w, the original document can be colour scanned by the FS-1118MFP and distributed immediately. Handwritten colour notes like this can be used for highlighting changes on any kind of document, whether it is a contract, magazine article, spreadsheet, schedule, roadmap or indeed anything that can be scanned.

Working in this way is more relaxed, and it works well for internal communications, which benefit from being as efficient and clear as possible without having to look perfect.

Sharing benefits on the network
The FS-1118MFP can be connected to a single PC via either the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 or parallel (IEEE 1284) interfaces. There is also a built-in Ethernet card, which enables the many benefits of the FS-1118MFP to be shared by users across the office network. Users will enjoy useful features such as the new Scan to PC, Scan to email and the optional network fax functionality. The FS-1118MFP also comes with Kyocera’s powerful controller language, PRESCRIBE, which emulates PCL5e, PCL6 as well as PostScript3® (KPDL3) and PDF direct printing.

ECOSYS saving money and avoiding waste
The FS-1118MFP is based on Kyocera’s unique, cost-saving ECOSYS technology, which uses long-life components. Toner is the only consumable that the device requires and the resulting cost savings and reduction in waste ensures that the FS-1118MFP delivers very low TCO in its class, while minimising environmental impact.

The new Kyocera FS-1118MFP multifunctional will be available on Bulgarian market from 20 June 2005 through Kontrax dealers.
